Pages take from The Art Journal, ca. 1876. Contains illustrations and text on

western American landmarks, particularly of Utah. Illustrations are black and white engravings

and cover the Great Salt Lake, Salt Lake City, Echo Canyon, Weber Canyon, Ogden City, and

Ogden Canyon. Oversize manuscript drawer.

Abstract

This collection contains photographs taken around 1893 by Paul W. Stecher, a commercial photographer and jeweler of early Ogden. The photographs are of Ogden and the construction of the pipeline in Ogden Canyon, as well as Ogden Canyon.

The contents of this collection consist of one manuscript titled A Place to Remember: The Hermitage Resort and photographs which depict the history of the Hermitage Resort, Ogden Canyon, Utah from its beginnings to 1939. Compiled and written by Eugene M. Higashiyama, 1978. Numbers on photographs do not correspond with numbers and pages in manuscript and photographs are on loan to the donor and are not part of the collection.
