Holton Family Letters
Scope and Contents
Three Holton family letters. One is from Fred J. Holton to “Eli,” dated September
26, 1898. Fred J. Holton was the treasurer of Box Elder County, and “Eli,” an overseas
missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The letter contains news about
Box Elder County and Utah, in general, such as B.H. Roberts running for Congress. The other
two letters, including envelopes, are from Samuel G. Dye of the Ogden Stake Presidency calling
on Joyce Pansy Holton to serve a mission in 1937, and from President Norman D. Moffet of the
Ogden Stake Mission, congratulating Joyce upon completion of her mission in 1940.
