Abstract

This collection contains 14 albums with over 1100 letters, cards and ephemera from 1942-1946 written by Loeb to his family. Loeb served in Ogden at Hill Airfield from May 27, 1942 - February 14, 1944.

Abstract

Military correspondence, certificates, discharges, photograph, and miscellaneous United States Armed Forces papers pertaining to Ogden, Utah natives, Charles B. and Earl M. Stone. Most of these documents pertain to World War II service. Included is a commendation for Charles Stone’s military duty, signed by President Harry S. Truman.

Scope and Contents

The Don Emerson Collection was donated by Don in 2016. This collection contains two series; this first contains information and photographs pertaining to his service during World War II in Africa and Italy, including artifacts. This includes his Purple Heart, dog tags and a German Iron Cross. The miscellaneous series contains information and photograms from his childhood in Iowa.

Scope and Contents This collection contains letters from the Ririe family spanning two wars, and it is organized into two series; Correspondence and Miscellaneous. The Correspondence series is broken down into three parts. World War One contains letters from Private Sylvin Ririe to his girlfriend Flora London. They start in 1916 and follow his transfers to France and back home again. The World War Two part are letters written by Sylvin and Flora to their son Dale.
