Ririe Family Correspondence
Scope and Contents
This collection contains letters from the Ririe family spanning two wars, and it is organized into two series; Correspondence and Miscellaneous. The Correspondence series is broken down into three parts. World War One contains letters from Private Sylvin Ririe to his girlfriend Flora London. They start in 1916 and follow his transfers to France and back home again. The World War Two part are letters written by Sylvin and Flora to their son Dale. They span his time in the Navy, including his time as medic serving in hospitals in the South Pacific. Miscellaneous contains letters that do not fall into either category, including a letter from King George of England thanking the American Soldiers for coming to their aid during World War One.
The Miscellaneous series contains memorabilia that came with the letters including a commencement program for Weber State University, 1950.
