J.C. Maher Correspondence
Scope and Contents
This collection contains correspondence of J. C. Maher, as well as photographs, newspaper clippings, and other documents relating to Maher’s life. These materials’ creation dates span from 1943 to c. 1983. James Christian Maher was born in Ogden on September 17 of 1910, and graduated from Ogden High School. Maher worked as an assistant manager at the Paramount Theater in Ogden, prior to his service in the U.S. Army Medical Corps from 1943-1946, as an X-ray technician. Following his discharge in 1946, Maher worked at the Ogden Employment Security Office. Maher was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, and died March 18, 1963, at the age of 52. The Collection is organized into three series; Series 1: Correspondences, Series 2: Photographs, and Series 3: Newspaper Clippings and Advertisements
