Reed Stringham papers
Scope and Contents
Reed Millington Stringham, Jr. was born on June 28, 1933 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Reed M. Stringham, Sr. and Helen Pratt Stringham. He grew up in Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School. He received a B.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Utah and a D.D.S. degree from Northwestern University.
Reed married Helen Jenkins in 1957 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He accomplished a great deal in Utah. He founded the College of Health Professions at Weber State College where he served as Dean for twenty years. He was a Research Associate at the University of Utah College of Medicine, a National Institute of Dental Research Postdoctoral Fellow, and taught at the University of Utah and Weber State College. Reed also practiced dentistry during his entire professional career.
Reed was a scientist and humanist. His belief in the dignity of the human spirit influenced his professional life and touched the souls of those who knew him. Reed loved his family dearly and was considered a superb husband, father, grandfather, companion, and friend.
He passed away on February 18, 1998 after a short illness and a service was held for him Saturday, February 21, 1998 at Monument Park Stake Center, Salt Lake City.
