Biographical / Historical
Sherwin W. Howard was born in Stafford, Arizona on February 18, 2001 and died on August 18, 2001. He got a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and Physics from Utah State University in 1960, a Master’s Degree in Theatre and Music from Utah State University in 1963, a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Playwriting and Dramatic Literature from Yale University in 1966, and a PhD in Higher Education Administration from the University of Wisconsin- Madison in 1980. He worked at Weber State College as the Dean of Arts and Humanities in 1980. He has published many poems, produced many plays, and many musical compositions in his lifetime. A former Utah Poet of the Year, his poetry has appeared in the Centennial Edition of Utah Sings, Weber Studies, Dialogue, Ensign, Red Neck Review, and others.
