Abstract

This collection contains the records of the Defense Depot Ogden that was built during World War II. The depot also housed an Italian and German POW camp.

Scope and Contents

The Don Emerson Collection was donated by Don in 2016. This collection contains two series; this first contains information and photographs pertaining to his service during World War II in Africa and Italy, including artifacts. This includes his Purple Heart, dog tags and a German Iron Cross. The miscellaneous series contains information and photograms from his childhood in Iowa.

This collection contains Ogden, Utah Defense Depot historical information donated by Ernest Cook, Defense Depot historian during 1963-1966. It contains charts, correspondence, programs, early history of the Depot, and the Annual Historical Summary, 1963-1964. Also included are photographs of Depot personnel and buildings.

Scope and Contents This collection is letters written from Jack Lemuel Myers Fletcher to his wife, Marvella (Bebe) Miles Fletcher between the years 1944-1946. Jack is serving in the United States Navy during World War II. His wife Bebe is living in Ogden at the time the letters are written. Jack continues to express his love for his wife and their two children and how much he misses them and is homesick in each letter. Letters contain that he is in Pearl Harbor, Guam, Tokyo and at sea.
