Within this collection are photographs of the Ogden area, circa 1900, and of construction of the Central Pacific Railroad. Photographs of Ogden include people, street scenes, businesses, and landmarks.

In 1979 Ogden City created the Landmarks Commission to protect and enhance the buildings,

areas and natural history of Ogden. It is comprised of citizen volunteers who review proposals to

change the exterior of buildings in Ogden’s three historic districts.

This collection contains copies of photographs from early Ogden and the surrounding region, spanning in time from the 1880s to the middle 1900s. Photographic subjects include people, buildings, businesses and industries, organizations, transportation, and landmarks. Each print in this collection has been backed with heavy cardboard.
