Ray Dempsey Gardner
On photograph is written: UH1 12-14-49 (INP Sound photo) Ogden, Utah—Ray Dempsey Gardner, 28—year old slayer of an Ogden babysitter, Shirley Jean Gretzinger, 17, is manacled and returned to jail by Sheriff Mac Wade. Gardner will receive the death sentence Friday since the jury did not recommend leniency.

Young, 1969. “The Masque of Monte Cristo” describes
the people and events of the Rocky Mountain Carnival
for 1890. The Mistick Krewe is located in the Special
Collections at Weber State University.
