Writing on photograph: Salt Lake City, June 19—Dies Before Firing Squad—Austin Cox, bearded slayer of a district judge and accused of the shotgun deaths of four other persons, stuck out his tongue as the death warrant was read today, then was executed by a firing squad at Utah Prison. This picture of Cox was taken last month.
