Marriner S. Eccles
Abstract
Book of brochures, letters, magazine and newspaper articles tracing the career achievements of Marriner Stoddard Eccles, 1890-1977. Marriner S. Eccles founded the First Security Corporation in 1928 and eventually would serve under President Franklin Delano Roosevelt as Assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury and then as Governor of the Federal Reserve System. In 1951, he resigned from the Federal Reserve Board. During his career, he was also president, director, and chairman of several companies, among them the Eccles Hotel Company, the Amalgamated Sugar Company, Utah-Idaho Central Railroad, and Utah Power and Light Company. Most of the information in this collection has been photocopied.
