Imperial Rainbow Court of Northern Utah

 Collection
Identifier: MS-544

Scope and Contents

This collection was donated by the Imperial Rainbow Court of Northern Utah, a nonprofit organization which began in 1996 as the Barony of Northern Utah. In 2000 it changed its name to The Imperial Rainbow Court of Northern Utah (IRCNU). Imperial Courts are located throughout the nation and provide a creative outlet for its members in the form of drag queens, costume design, drag kings, set design and musical theater. At its heart is a fundraising organization that benefits the communities they are located in.

There are two main series in this collection: Barony of Northern Utah and The Imperial Rainbow Court of Northern Utah. They are both broken up into subseries by reign. Missing are reigns I and II for the Barony of Northern. Each reign contains two series: Financials and Administrative Records. Administrative contains meeting minutes, board members, membership applications, newsletters, and scheduling forms. A few of the reigns contain the articles of incorporation for IRCNU. Financials contain bank statements and checks, deposits, receipts from general funds, and other funds, which includes pride, AIDS, women’s cancer, Headstone, hospitality, St. Anne’s Center, Crystal Rose Common Concern Fund, Love and Laughter, Rainbow, and coronations.

At the end of the collection is a miscellaneous series which include campaign buttons, emperor/empress pins, and undated receipts and administrative documents.
