Thomas D. Dee School of Nursing Student Records 1913-1955
Scope and Contents
This collection contains the records of nursing students who attended the Dee School of Nursing from 1913-1955. Each folder charts the progress of each student nurse through training and through each floor of the hospital. There are nursing supervisor comments as well as some by the doctors themselves listed. Starting in about 1941, the applicants were asked to attach a photo to their application.
The state board exams which were given to the students at the end of their three years of training are included as well as the yearbooks which were printed each May. The earliest yearbook which is in the collection is from 1927.
This collection is organized alphabetical by years.
The Thomas D. Dee family generously donated the collection to the Stewart Library – Special Collections in 1986.
