Biographical / Historical
The Assistant VP of Academic Support position was created in 1974. This position was created to go along with the newly created Academic Affairs. Starting in 1974 the position was title Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs However, in 1982 the title switched to Assistant Vice Preisdent of Academic Support. The title of the position then became the Associate Provost in 1994. Elaine Jarrett was the first to be in the from from 1974-1976. Thomas Burton then took the position from 1976-1981. From 198201987 Marie Kotter took the role during the namve change. E. Jeffery Livingston worked in the position from 1987-1992. In 1994 the department was changed to the Provost Office where Kathleen Lukken was the Interim from 1993-1994.
