This record group contains the records for the College of Social and Behavioral Science. When the school was given to the state in 1933, there were four divisions, one of which was Social Sciences. In 1936 the Division of Social Sciences combined with the Division of Humanities to form the Division of Liberal Arts. In 1938 the Division of Liberal Arts and the Division of Sciences combined to form the Division of Arts and Sciences. In 1940 the Division of Arts and Sciences reorganized into the College Preparatory Division. In 1943 the College Preparatory Division split into nine divisions, one of which was the Division of Social Sciences. Between 1943 and 1967 the Division of Social Sciences became the Division of Humanities, Life Sciences, and Social Sciences. In 1967 the Division of Humanities, LIfe Sciences, and Social Sciences became the School of Arts, Letters, and Sciences. In 1975 the School of Arts, Letters and Sciences reorganized into three schools, one of which was the School of Social Sciences.
