This subgroup consists of records relating to or created by George F. Phillips, Principal of Weber Stake Academy from 1893-1894. George was born in Glasgow, Scotland on April 18, 1867. He was educated at the University of Glasgow. He converted from Catholicism to Mormonism in 1889. He emigrated to the United States in 1890 and lived in St. Charles, Idaho. He married Agnes Gittens in 1890, and had two sons. He was in charge of the Bear Lake Stake Stake Academy, and also taught at the Brigham Young Academy in Provo, Utah. He was principal of Weber Academy from 1893-1894, but chose not to stay on as principal because of the school's financial difficulties and political disagreements. He was a faculty member at the school from 1894-1895. From that point until his death in 1907, he practiced medicine in Wellsville.
